Sutras of the Aquarian Age: June 2017 Kundalini Yoga class theme

Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga shared five principles which he called the “Five Sutras of the Aquarian Age” to help us transition from the Piscean Age into this Aquarian Age. These Sutras are simple, yet profound!

“In this time Piscean values are giving way to Aquarian values. The difference between the two is very simple. Piscean values work from the ego, creating boundaries. Aquarian values have no boundaries; they are Infinite. Aquarian consciousness takes you inside your soul, so that you can relate to the soul in all.”  -Yogi Bhajan from Aquarian Times, Spring 2003

Every year for the past five years, 3HO has focused on one of these Sutras as the theme for their Summer Solstice Sadhana Celebration. This 9-day spiritual gathering in the high desert mountains of New Mexico is a rare opportunity to cleanse the mind, go beyond ego and feel your spirit soar.  Based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, the Summer Solstice experience includes Kundalini Yoga workshops, White Tantric Yoga®, Morning Sadhana, Live Kirtan, Community Connection, and the all-pervasive bright, uplifting energy generated by 2000 souls living in their highest consciousness.

This summer will conclude with the 5th & last Sutra.  I thought it would be fun to use this month of June, the same month as Summer Solstice to focus on the Sutras in my weekly classes.  Since there are 5 Sutras and 6 classes in June, our last class which falls on the Solstice 6/21 will be a special Solstice Celebration! I hope you can join me for one or all in this series to help propel you into a great summer.

As a reminder, I will be gone the last week of June to attend the International Woman’s Camp, which occurs just after 3HO’s Summer Solstice Sadhana Celebraton.  Therefore their will be NO Kundalini Yoga Class  June 26th or June 28th.

Here are the links to learn more about these two special events that occur every summer in New Mexico! I strongly encourage you to attend at least one of these events, at least once in your lifetime!!

“We come here to give our ego up; we don’t come here to demonstrate our ego. Either you undertake the responsibility and be what you should be, or you can never break the patterns. And there’s no choice between the two. It would be very silly to come here and not test yourself. It is a test—whether you communicate with your ego, or your ego communicates with you.”  -Yogi Bhajan, June 18, 1973

International Womans’ Camp: https://www.3ho.org/womens-camp

“I designed this camp to give women a standard of security, grace, and purity of thought… It is not a yoga camp. It is not a meditation camp. It is a woman-in-training camp. It is totally to train the whole sum of the woman, not just one part of her…This camp is not designed to create yogis. Our purpose is that you should [learn to] confront the world as a saint, but live as a soldier in your readiness.” -Yogi Bhajan, August 21, 1978
